Accessibility fixed in your store’s code — not papered over with a widget.
Get a free scan in about a minute. We find common WCAG issues across your home, collection, product and cart pages, then fix them at the theme level for a fixed price — with a preview before go-live, an undo for every change, and monitoring after each release.
Free · No install · No store access needed for the scan. Automated tests catch a subset of issues — we’ll tell you what needs a manual check.

Accessibility is now a real business risk for online stores
Demand letters and lawsuits target e-commerce more than any other sector, and the EU now expects accessible online shops. Customers with disabilities also simply can’t buy from a store they can’t use.
US lawsuits in 2025
Industry trackers counted roughly five thousand digital accessibility lawsuits last year — most of them against online retailers, many on Shopify.
sued sites had a widget
Overlay toolbars don’t change the underlying code, so the barriers that plaintiffs’ testers find are still there. Sites with widgets keep getting sued.
EU Accessibility Act in force
Online shops selling to EU consumers are expected to meet accessibility requirements, and enforcement and warning letters have started.
In January 2025 the US FTC ordered a major overlay vendor to pay $1M over claims that its widget made sites compliant. That’s why we never promise “compliance” — we fix real code and document it.
Widgets vs. code fixes
Settlements and audits usually ask for the same thing: fix the actual issues in the site. That’s the only thing we do.
| Aspect | Overlay widget | FixA11y |
|---|---|---|
| What changes | A script layered on top of the page | Your theme’s Liquid, CSS and JS |
| Screen-reader users | Often still blocked; some find overlays get in the way | Proper labels, alt text, focus order and semantics |
| Safety | Changes at runtime, hard to review | Preview theme first, every change reversible |
| After you ship new features | No idea what broke | Monthly re-scan and regression alerts |
| Documentation | A badge | Change log + before/after evidence you can share with counsel |

Questions
Will this make my store “compliant” or stop lawsuits?
No one can honestly guarantee that, and we don’t. What we do is find and fix real, common accessibility barriers in your code, document the work, and keep checking. That is what most settlement agreements and accessibility standards ask for.
Do you need access to my store?
Not for the free scan. For a Fix Sprint we use a Shopify collaborator account (or your GitHub repo) and work in a duplicate theme, so your live store isn’t touched until you publish.
Can you undo changes?
Yes. Every change is tracked in a change log, and your original theme stays untouched as a backup.
What does an automated scan miss?
Automated tools find roughly a third to a half of WCAG issues. Things like logical focus order, meaningful alt text and screen-reader flows need human checks, which are included in the Fix Sprint.
I already received a demand letter. Can you help?
We can fix the technical issues quickly and give your lawyer an evidence pack of what changed. We’re not a law firm and don’t give legal advice — please work with your counsel on the legal side.
Not on Shopify?
The scanner works on any public website. Fix Sprints currently cover Shopify themes and sites where we can work in a Git repository.
